A short walk from the central boulevard of Unter den Linden is Hotel de Rome, housed in a building that once was the head office of the Dresdner Bank. Designers Tommaso Ziffer and Olga Polizzi have respected the rich history of the building, maintaining its architectural splendour while adding a contemporary twist. Highlights include the hotel's indoor pool, which is housed in the original bank vault, an impressive ballroom with double-hight ceiling and glazed roof and four historic suites which formerly were the offices of the bank directors.
